MOTOR VEHICLE LICENCES
FEWER CARS REGISTERED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 9. The Postmaster-general, Mr P. C. Webb, stated to-day that at September 30 261,530 motor vehicles had been licensed for the current year. This represents a decrease of 21,170, or 7.49 per cent., compared with the number licensed at the corresponding date last year. The number of cars licensed, 174,435, represents a decrease of 24,013, or 12.10 per cent. The commercial • vehicle lipences at 74.103 are higher by 3614, or 5.12 per cent. The motor cycle licences at 12,992 show a decline of 771, or 5,6 per cent.
