CITY POLICE COURT

“ This man is addicted to drink, and he will not work,” said the probation officer (Mr E. F. Mosley), when Blythe Leslie Scott appeared before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M.. in the Police Court yesterday, and pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing a pair of shoes valued at £1 15s, the property of Fuller Pollett. Detective Sergeant Le Sueur said that the shoes were stolen from a boarding house at which Scott and the complainant shared a room. When he was interviewed the accused said he had sold the shoes to a second-hand dealer for Bs. He had a largo list of convictions in the last 12 years. A sentence of one month’s imprisonment was imposed.
