TRAVEL CLUB
Pre-war Malta was the subject of an interesting address to the Dunedin Travel Club, yesterday morning, by Miss Joachim, who had paid a visit to the island in March,'l92B. The speaker said that as the island, in its chequered history, had been overrun so often by invaders; the Maltese had.great grit and powers of endurance which had been demonstrated in the courage they had displayed during the past two and a-half years of ceaseless bombing. Mr L. M. Wright expressed the thanks of the club to Miss Joachim. Visitors to the club, who were welcomed by Mrs Richard Hudson, included Mrs Webster, of Evans Flat, Mrs J. M. McKay, of Invercargill, Mrs C. Bain, of Kaiapoi, and Mrs B. de B. Gates, of Malaya.
