ON A WAR FOOTING
ALASKAN POPULATION WASHINGTON, (Rec. 10.45 p.m.) June 16. The Secretary of the Interior. Mr H. L. Ickes, has ordered the Alaskan civilian population to be placed on a war footing for complete collaboration with the military and naval authorities there. He also directed the Governor, Mr E. H. Grueiiing. to organise an Alaskan War Council immediately.
