HOUSE ADJOURNS

RESUMPTION ON JUNE 24 (F.0.P.R.) WELLINGTON, May 9. The fourth short section of the present session of Parliament ended today, the House of Representatives adjourning until June 24. The Prime Minister, Mr P. Fraser, informed members before the House adjourned that he could not guarantee a week ahead that members might not be called together. They might be recalled at an hour's notice. When the House met again in June, Mr Fraser said, the mam Estimates would be ready, and they could be proceeded with. If the House met earlier members would have to return to deal with the Estimates, which were the main business of the session. Members of the public were excluded from the galleries during an explanation by the Prime Minister of the estimates of war exepnditure and a discussion on the man-power situation.
