OTAGO HUNT

MEET AT EAST TAIERI The weekly run of the Otago Hunt was held on Saturday at East Taieri over the properties of Messrs Mosgiel Motors, Ltd., J. Tregilgus. J. Hardie", J. McDonald, and J. Dunery. to whom the thanks of the club are due for their continued sup-, port. The weather was cold, but the going was good and without exception every horse that followed jumped very well. Greyhawk and Johnnie Walker were outstanding. After the hunt a very enjoyable afternoon tea was provided at the residence of Mr Dunery. Songboy, ridden by his owner-trainer, A. McDonald, qualified. Those present were:—The acting master, J. Morris, on Greyhawk: the acting deputy master, K. Russell, on Johnnie Walker; the huntsman, A. McKay, on Balckthome; the whip, J. McKay, on Samson; Mrs Gorton on Sparkle, Misses E. GraVit on Marquis. M. Frew on Clinker, F. Holmes on Rose Marie, M. Kirkland on Trixie, B. Gunn on Radius Rod. S. Stodart on Scotty. D. Medly on Vallbck. H. McCullough on Lady Luck, Messrs J. Muirhead on Captain Ewing, J. Fogo on General Lion, J. Smellie on Free Lance, C. Bankshaw on Safe Light, M. Simon on Lofty, J. McCullough on Tony, R. Lanham on Swingtime, N. Green on Royal Glen, A. McDonald on Songboy, D. Shaw on Gypsy Dancer. , Jumping Competition

A jumping competition was held over two fences and was judged by Messrs A. Dickson and J. Muirhead. The result was as follows: Johnnie Walker (K. Russell) 1. Captain Ewing (Miss D. Medley) 2, Greyhawk (J. Morris) 3. Also competed: Sparkle (Mrs W. Gorton), Rose Marie (L. Hunt), General Lion (J. McCullough). Weather permitting the hunt will be held next Saturdaty at " Sea View."
