EVIDENCE tAKEN IN HOSPITAL Court proceedings were held in unusual circumstances at the Dunedin Hospital ~pn Thursday night when, in a special ward, Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M., held a sitting at the , bedside of a young woman-.whols at present lying' dangerously ill as the result. it is ,alleged, of an illegal operation. . The accused person,. who was represented by' Mr, ,G. Henri Arnaud Hirt, a Swiss,'aged Tomahawk. and' he wais charged with havingunlawfully used, an instrument. - Sergeant Hall prosecuted* and with him were Chief Detective Uplines and Detective Russell. Before the woman’s statement was taken Dr J. B. Dawson, professor of, obstetrics at the Dunedin Medical School, stated'that , she was fit to give -evidence.
