CONCERT AT THE SPIT

Another enjoyable community sing and concert was held at the Spit for members of the National Reserve. Mr J. F. Himburg was the leader, with Mr A. Pettitt at the piano. The soldiers were in great form, and the singing was splendid, old numbers being especial favourites with the men. By special request, Mr Pettitt played the " Bells of St. Mary's." Assisting performers were Mrs Hall Masters and Mrs John McFarlane (vocal duets). Miss D. Darracott, Mr N. I*rkins, Mrs McFarlane, Mrs Masters (songs), Mr F. White (character songs), Miss R. Simp-* son (piano-accordion), and Mr N. Larkina (violin solbs). Lieutenant R. S. Vercoe, on behalf of the officers and men, thanked the' party for its entertainment
