GREAT INCREASE EXPECTED IN CANADA (Rec. 9 p.m.) TORONTO, Feb. 7. Mr Harry Carmichael, Directorgeneral of Munitions Production, in a broadcast from St. Catharines, saidjhe had assured Mr ChurcMll that Canada s armaments shipments this year would be at least four times greater than in Mr Carmichael declared that Canada's programme of 1,000,000 tons of merchant shipping in 1942, plus corvettes, minesweepers, and auxiliary naval vessels, would represent an achievement, on a comparable basis, unequalled in the world.
