FIGHTING IN BURMA MAIN CLASH AT PAAN (Rec. 2 a,m.) LONDON, Feb. 5. The main fighting in Burma is taking place around Paan, 25 miles north of Moulmein. Further air attacks were carried out on enemy concentrations this morning. . The Domei News Agency, Tokio, claims that the Japanese have entered Paan, but it is pointed out in London that even if this is correct it does not mean that the Japanese have crossed the Salween River. SURABAYA AGAIN BOMBED (Rec. 2 a,m.) LONDON, Feb. 5. Surabaya was again raided this morning and a number of fires were started among military installations. A Batavia communique states that the commander of the Dutch garrison at Balik Papan, with a number of his men, has succeeded in fighting his way out‘ through the Japanese forces attacking in the area. SINGAPORE SIEGE (Rec. 2 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 5.
