SAFETY MEASURES
REMOVAL OF AXIS ALIENS STRATEGIC POSITIONS IN U.S.A. WASHINGTON, (Rec. 0.15 a.m.) Feb. 4. The Attorney-general, Mr Francis Biddle, announced that all German, Italian, and Japanese aliens will be removed from 31 prohibited areas in the States of Washington and Oregon before February 13. The strategic sites in these States include the Grand Coulee dam, and the Bonneville dam. which are important sources of hydro-electric power. Eighty-six prohibited zones were previously instituted in California.
