DISTRIBUTION OF SUPPLIES

PROVISION FOR EMERGENCY REGIONAL CONTROLLERS (P.A.)' AUCKLAND, Feb. 5. A statement that three regional controllers had been appointed in the Dominion to exercise authority in the control and distribution of supplies in the event of -enemy action was made to-day by Mr P. Shaw, chairman of the Technical Supplies Committee of the E.P.S. The controller for the whole of the Auckland province will be Mr A. H. Honeyfield, manager of the Internal Marketing Department, Auckland. Should an emergency arise, Mr Honeyfield will have full powers over all local supply controllers of food, sugar, wheat and flour, fruit, vegetables, building, timber, transport, oil, fuel, and electricity, and will collaborate with the other controllers and co-ordinate all supplies. “ We view Mr Honeyfield’s appointment with a great deal of satisfaction,” said Mr Shaw.
