MEN IN RECENT BALLOT
NO SET SYSTEM FOR DRAFTING (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Jan. 29. There has been no general instruction to • post men over the age of 35 years, who were drawn in the ballot of January 20, to the National Military Reserve units and send those under 35 to the Territorial Force units. This statement was made at Army Headquarters, Wellington, in reference to an Auckland report that the procedure referred to is being adopted generally. .It was stated at Army Headquarters that the matter was one for the military districts individually to make their own arrangements for the posting of men to the units under their control. It might well be that some districts would adopt the practice, where men were required for the National Military Reserve battalions, of posting to such units men in the older age categories.
