AUCKLAND UNIONISTS EARLIER DECISION REVERSED (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Jan. 29. Unionists who previously had been told by their unions that they must not work to-day. Anniversary Day. unless they received the full award holiday payment were advised by radio' broadcast early this morning that the decision had been reversed. Work in the various manufacturing and other industries proceeded without interruption. The reversal of the decision followed an address by the Minister of Labour, Mr P. C. Webb, to .a special general meeting of the Auckland Trades Council of the Federation of Labour last night. The day was observed as a partial holiday. There were no bread or meat deliveries, and most of the shops were closed. The trading banks, legal offices and the Customs Department remained open.
