Ministerial The Minister of Health (Mr A. H. Nordmeyer) visited the seacliff Mental Hospital yesterday, returning to Dunedin in the late afternoon. He- then inspected the Queen Mary Maternity Hospital. The Minister will return north this morning. Colonel G. Barclay was a passenger for Wellington by the through express yesterday. Mr M. Bullivant has been appointed a member of the Dunedin National Savings Committee. Mrs J. Duncan, of Council street, St. Kilda, has received cabled advice that her eldest son, Gordon Lenard, has been posted a prisoner of war. ■ Advice has been received from Canada that lan McNarey, the first volunteer for the R.N.Z.A.F. from the Dunedin City Corporation staff, has attained the rank of pilot officer. The northbound airliner left yesterday with the following passengers: Mrs R. Cheyne, Miss R. Brebner, Mr W. Calder Mackay and Mrs W. Calder Mackay for Wellington. Passengers from the north were as follows:—Miss J. Balk, Mrs W. A. Aitken, Mr T. O. Bishop, Miss A. McCrostie from Wellington, Mr H. W. Jaguiseh, Mr R. H. Gardner, Mr C. R. Edmond and Mr C. C. Davies from Christchurch.
