WAR RISK INSURANCE
PACIFIC RATES INCREASED NEW YORK, Jan. 25. War risk insurance rates rose from 4 to 7£ per cent, for Australian and New Zealand shipments via the Panama canal across the Pacific. The rates for cargoes travelling across the Atlantic around the Cape of Good Hope remain at 5 per cent. The increase is attributed to the heightened Japanese military and naval activity near Australia.
