CRUELTY TO ANIMALS
SOCIETY FOR PREVENTION The monthly meeting of the committee of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was held yesterday. Mr E. C. Reynolds was in. the chair. A letter was received from the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals which stated that that society had used flag days as a means of raising funds.—The chairman suggested that' the Otago Society should keep in view the setting aside of a flag day for that purpose. 'Mr Keith Ramsay wrote urging that something should be done about the poisoning of pigeons in the Queen's Gardens. —The inspector (Mr J. J. Hinchcliff) said that the matter had been investigated, but without result. The inspector's report stated that 91 new members had joined, and there was one new life member.
