Banned by Nazis The Hilversum radio says that Dr Seyss Inquart, the German Governor, has banned all political parties and movements in Holland except the Dutch Nazis under Herr Mussert. Edinburgh By-election The Edinburgh by-election resulted: F. C. Watt (Con.) 4771, T. Taylor (Ind. Lab.) 1950. There is no change in the representation. 18 per cent., of the electorate voted. Reconstruction in Eritrea

The United States is virtually taking over Eritrea for the duration of the war, reports the Associated Press Cairo correspondent. The Government of Eritrea will remain British, but America has arranged to pour in thousands of technicians and workmen, building factories, assembly plants, and other establishments and making Eritrea a power house for the Middle East forces. .

Daylight Saving Daylight saving is under consideration by both the Federal and State Governments in Australia, and, judging from the pressure exercised by the press and important public bodies, it seems likely to be adopted shortly.

Delegation Cancelled The visit to America and England of the Federal parliamentary delegation was suddenly cancelled by Mr Curtin on Saturday 20 minutes before the members were due to leave Hobart.
