DUTCH NAVAL SUCCESS
JAPANESE TRANSPORTS SUNK SINGAPORE, (Rec. 9.30 p.m.) Dec. 13. A communique states that during last night four enemy troop ships were sunk off Patani by Netherlands submarines. The transports were steaming south ‘fully loaded. According to the Batavia wireless, 4000 Japanese soldiers were drowned as the result of the sinkings. The submarines were operating under orders of the British Naval Command. The transports were steaming southward about 70 miles south, of the Thai border.
