CANADA’S INCREASED EFFORT (Rec. 7 p.m.) , RUGBY, Dec. 13. Canada has been making munitions of all kinds on a vastly increased scale since shortly before the war, and at least 8.000,000 shells have been turned out Their production is now at the •_ rate of millions a year. Ten million cases for shells have also been produced. Munitions now being made include 22 types of shells and many types of bullet 5001 b bombs manufactured at the rate of 10.000 a year, depth charges and anti-tank mines, rifles, grenades, and eight types of explosives and chemicals. Canada has one of ; the largest chemical plants in the Empire. The total expenditure on munitions and supply since the war beigpn is approximately £6,000,000.
