BALCLUTHA Personal.—Chaplain Captain T. V. Pearson is at present home on leave from Trentham. Flight Lieutenant J. H. Stevenson and Sergeant Pilot Munro are also home on leave, and were entertained by the local Patriotic Committee last night.— Flight Lieutenant ' Stevenson, a former Mayor of Balclutha,-.was entertained at dinner on Thursday night by past and present members of the Balclutha Borough Council and presented with a set of brushes. —Word was received yesterday that Signaller James Christie Clark, eldest son >of Mr and Mrs Jphn Clark, Charlotte street, Balclutha, had been killed in action in the Libyan campaign; Signaller ; Clark was at one. time employed in'the Balclutha Post Office, and was on the staff of the ..Cheviot Post Office, Canterbury, when he enlisted.—Mr W. S. Smith;, plat-, form porter at the Balclutha railway station, has been' transferred-.to Dunedin.on. promotion and left yesterday for his new post. His successor is Mr E. W.
