CITY POLICE COURT
Monday, November 24 (Before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M.) Maintenance Henry George Alexander Barnes was charged with the disobedience of a maintenance order, under which he was in arrears to the extent of £3O. —/The defendant was sentenced to three months' imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended so long as he pays £2 10s a week until the arrears are discharged. Charged with default ot a maintenance order, the arrears under which amounted to £55. William Ewart Gladstone MacKenzie was sentenced to three months' imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended conditional on his paying £5 on or before December 1' and £2 a week after that date until the arrears are paid.
The magistrate delivered his reserved decision in the claim against James Huia Hampslead for affiliation and maintenance orders in respect of an illegitimate child of which he was alleged to be the father. After traversing the evidence, the magistrate dismissed the complaint. Mr O. G. Stevens represented the complainant.
