WOMEN'S WAR SERVICE AUXILIARY
Waikouaiti Branch. —A meeting of the committee of the W.W.S.A. was held in the schoolhouse on Thursday, Mrs Herbert, the president, presiding. Correspondence was read from the National Service Department explaining the position of voluntary war work by women's organisations, training groups, uniforms, badges and insignia and office holders. A circular was received on the obstetrical nursing aids from the national body of the W.W.S.A. Wellington. Reports were received from Mrs Higgins, who is in charge of the transport class, and from Mrs C. Aitcheson regarding the Plunket aids. ;Mrs Herbert reported on the meeting held of the controllers of the Emergency Precautions Scheme, which, she stated, were preDaring for a " try-out" on Saturday. Miss Fleet gave an interesting report on the weekly parades of women under the command of Mr Goodly.
