BALANCED ECONOMY

TO THE EDITOR.

Sir, —Your correspondent "An Ordilry Man " sees things from the point ' view of the manufacturer, and is ) doubt rightly disturbed. But bour is even more concerned with e feet that certain sections of the immercial world are exercising an ldue influence on the country's fairs, Working men are not fools, id they cannot help seeing that, hilst many industries are at their it's end to maintain their men in nployment, others have stores ammed with goods in reserve. The ea of a " new industry" is getting bit washed out. We know that disimination will mean that tradesmen ill lose their employment. Many of e so-called new industries are only limsies" offering employment to lie and female juniors and labourers, e have nothing against Mr Nash's

policy, but it is up to our unions to see that it is not undermined by people who are clever enough to work the back door stunt.—l am, etc., No Cupboard Love. 1
