ORPHANS' CLUB

SUCCESSFUL FINAL NIGHT The fortnightly meetings of the Dunedin Orphans’ Club were brought to a close last niglu, when the vice-president, Bro. P. W. Stabb, was in the chair. A good muster of members enjoyed a fine programme of entertainment, to add to the attractiveness of which the stage of the Victoria Hall was decorated tastefully for tire occasion. As well as r rchestral items bv instrumentalists under the baton of Bro. J. Clark, with Mr A. Pettltt at the piano, a varied musical programme was presented. Songs were given by Bros. D. F. Ingiis. R. McDoueall, R. J Laurenson, W. H. Cole and E. Ottrey. and R. Wilson Brown, and Bros. B, Delghton and 'W. H. .Tohnson rendered a duet. Recitations were given by Bros. J. B. McConnell and C. H. Russell. Bro. J. H. Oliver presented a sketch, and Bro. W. Smith played the t"nor horn. Bros. L. McKillop and A. McMillan on the bagpipes were accompanied by the orchestra. A feature of the night was the demonstration of carbon sketching bv the official programme front designer for the club, Bro. J. H. Oliver, on blackboard-sized sheets.
