LANCASHIRE AND YORKSHIRE SOCIETY
The Lancashire and Yorkshire Society held its weekly social on Saturday last. The president, Mr F. D. Swift, was in the chair, and Mrs MacDonell acted as accompanist. Mrs G. A. Ridding was the winner of the “ lucky number " competition. An enjoyable time was spent in community singing and games interspersed with the following items; —Recitations. Mr Alan Hay. ” The Tale of a Tack ” and “ The Referee,” Mrs Knopp. “ The Lion and Albert,’! and " The Return of Albert song. Mr F. D. Swift. " Hundred Fathoms Deep Yorkshire reading, Mrs Walker. To close the function members sang the society’s song, “ Roses Red and Roses White.”
