R.A.F. RAIDS
GERMAN TARGETS SEVERE DRUBBING ONE OF HEAVIEST OF WAR LONDON, Oct. 13. More than 300 bombers of the R.A.F. last night gave Germany one of the heaviest drubbings of the war, the raids extending to targets as far away as Nuremberg •n Bavaria. This was the third time that Nuremberg, a big industrial centre and important railway junction, has suffered since the war .began. To carry out the raid, the R.A.F. planes had to make a flight of more than 1200 miles. Bremen, another of the principal objectives, was also heavily attacked. Out of the huge force of bombers which the R.A.F. sent over Germany, only 11 failed to return. An Air Ministry communique states: "The R.A.F. attacked targets in Bavaria, the Rhineland, and north-west Germany last night." The Berlin correspondent of a Stockholm newspaper reports that the residents of Hamburg are being asked to hand in the nam is of all children under the age of 10 who have not already been evacuated. This action, it is stated, is being taken in preparation for the heavier R.A.F. offensive which is expected in the winter. RAIDS OVER ENGLAND CASUALTIES IN THE NORTH (Rec. 1 a.m.) LONDON. Oct. 13.
