GREEN ISLAND CLUB There was a large attendance of members at the eleventh annual meeting of the Green Island Cricket Club, at which the president (Mr T. M. Grant) occupied the chair. Before the commencement of the business reference was made to Mr H. H. Buchanan, a former member of the club, who had been killed in action, and members' stood in silence as a tribute to his memory. . Moving the adoption of the annual report and balance sheet. Mr A. E. Berry congratulated the club on its successful year, stating that the Second Grade A team, captained by A Grant, had won its championship, and the Second Grade B team, captained by G A. Abercrorhbie. had finished third. He referred to the outstanding performance of S. E. Barnes, of the Second Grade B team, in taking 125 wickets for an average of 5.05 runs. Berry. Twenty-one vicenresidents were also elected Mr G. M. Gardiner presented the trophies which were won as follows;- • Batting: Second A. T M. Grant; Second B. A. E. Berry, jun. Bowling: Second A. E, F Talbot; Second B. S. E. Barnes Outstanding nerformance. G. F Berry

Opening day was fixed for October 4. and it was decided to arrange games with the University, Owaka and Balclutha Clubs. Eight new members were elected.
