TRADE TALKS DEADLOCK
JAPAN AND EAST INDIES BATAVIA, June 13. Mr Yoshizawa denied rumours of a Japanese evacuation, saying that no preparations had been made for i a general exodus, while the Japanese Consul (General Ishizatfa) is'advising Japanese residents to remain calm. Mr Ya-hizawa said: "There is an absolute deadlock .in the trade talks. We are unable to back down. Since further Dutch concessions are impossible the only alternatives are statesmanship or resort to force."
