CONSCRIPTION URGED
RECRUITING IN CANADA GOVERNMENT CRITICISED (Rec. 8 p.m.) OTTAWA, June 15. Parliament has adjourned to Novvember unless circumstances warrant an earlier meeting. In closing the discussion on the war budget, the Opposition attacked the Government for the disappointing results of last month's recruiting campaign, for which reason they demanded conscription. It was said that little more than 10,000 had responded to an appeal for 32,000. The Minister of Defence (Mr J. L. Ralston) replied that conscription would split the country from end to end.
