AIR FORCE COMMAND

CHANGES ANNOUNCED (Rec. 8 p.m.) RUGBY, June 14. Air Chief Marshal Sir Frederick Bowhill has been appointed to command the organisation which is to take delivery from the recently-formed flight ferry eommr.nd of the United States Army Air Corps to fly to Britain aircraft produced in American factories for the R.A.F. He will be succeeded in the F&st of air officer commanding the Chief Coastal Command by Air Marshal Sir Phillip Joubert de la Ferte. Air Chief Marshall Bowhill has been air officer commanding-in-chief of the Coastal Command since August, 1937. Air Marshal Joubert de la Ferte was air officer commanding the RA.F. in, Indian when the war broke out. He was recalled in October, 1939, for service at home, and appointed adviser on combined operations. Later he became Assistant Chief of the Air Staff.
