OVERSEAS LEAGUE

Members of the Overseas League have received a letter from the Acting Prime Minister, Mr W. Nash, in which he states: “I received your letter of May 29. and have had pleasure in forwarding to his Excellency the Gover-nor-General the enclosed loyal resolution for transmission to his Majesty the King. The league members in Dunedin are looking forward to the visit shortly of Sir Evelyn Wrench, founder of the league, and Lady Wrench. Sir Evelvn is making his second visit to New Zealand. Twenty-eight years ago he scent three months on a comprehensive tour, during which he visited every town in the Dominion. On this occasion he is to give a series of lectures and broadcast addresses on the English-speaking Union, and will also visit the various branches of the Overseas League. He will then spend two months in Australia on a similar mission and will later undertake a goodwill mission in India. Lady Wrench is Sir Evelyn’s first cousin, and for 25 years has been honorary controller of the Overseas League. Their present tour is being made in a private capacity, and they are not the emissaries of any Government organisations
