COUNCIL’S ACTIVITIES REPRESENTATIVE IN AMERICA (Eec. 10 p.m.) V' RUGBY, June 11. The President of the Board of Trade, Mr Oliver Lyttelton, announces the appointment. of Sir Kenneth Lee as representative in the United States of the Industrial and Export Council. Mr Lyttelton states that the appointment is being made in order to coordinate and stimulate the efforts being made both in Britain and the United States to maintain the fullest possible volume of export trade to the United States. The functions of the council’s representative will be to take all proper action to stimulate the purchase of United States goods in the United States, and as far as possible to co-ordinate the activities of all United Kingdom organisations interested in the export trade to that country. He will wish to make contact with the industrial and commercial organisations of the United States, and for that purpose he will visit the more important centres. Sir Kenneth will keep in closest possible touch and work in co-operation with the Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy and with the Consul-general in New York and the British Empire Chamber of Commerce. Born in 1879, Sir Kenneth served for some time since the outbreak of the present war as Director-general of the Ministry of Information. He was a member of the recent Trade Mission to South America under Lord Willingdon.
