SALE OF FENCING WIRE
CRITICISM OF GOVERNMENT CONTROL — (Special) WELLINGTON, June 12. Criticism of the effect of Government control of the sale of fencing wire is expressed by Mr H S. S. Kyle (Opposition. Riccarton) in a question to the Minister of Supply, Mr D. G Sullivan, of which he gave notice in the House of Representatives to-day. Mr Kyle will ask the Minister to explain why fencing wire previously sold by merchants at a profit of per cent, after lying in stock is now being sold under Government control at double the cost, and without lying in stock, by merchants at a price which must show a 20 per cent, rise on the cost, and with the provision that the merchants will be liable to a fine if they do not adhere to this scheme.
