PENSIONERS’ HOSPITAL RAZED BY NAZI BOMBS.—The famous Chelsea Pensioners’ Hospital, which was built by Charles II at the request of Nell Gwynne, was extensively damaged in one of the recent “ murder raids.” This picture shows the remains of the infirmary in which many of the pensioners were killed. Amongst the dead was the oldest soldier in the institution, a man of 101 years of age.
