THE LEAGUE OF MOTHERS
Milton Branch.— Monthly meeting: After devotions the president (Mrs H. Wilson) and the secretary (Mrs S. Saunders) reported having spent an enjoyable afternoon with the W.D.F.U. Items were given by the choir, accompanied by Mrs Keinan, and Mrs Dodds’s poem was given as the thought for the day. An inspiring address was given by the Rev. Gordon Parker on “The Sanctity of Marriage," ana he was thanked on the motion of Mrs W McLean. The aims and objects of the league were read by Mrs Wilson.
Roslyn Branch.—After devotions, Mrs F. S.Laycock took the chair, and several verses from Psalm xxxiv. were read. Flowers were sent to the Public Hospital. The thought for the day brought by Mrs George was "Tis not the love we get, but that we give, which leaves glad memories for the coming years” Mesdames Thompson and Lawrence ■ gave a humorous sketch entitled “ Cheering the Invalid,” and as an encore Mrs Lawrence gave a recitation “ The Crowd.” Mrs Laycock recounted “Reminiscences of a day in Cairo.” On the motion of Mrs M. Johnson, a hearty vote of thanks was accorded the entertainers.
