WOMEN'S HOCKEY

EXECUTIVE MEETING Mrs Sonntag presided at the Women's Hockey Executive meeting last evening. The University Club was granted permission to travel to Auckland to take part in the interuniversity tournament from May 21-25. The O.S.P.S.S.A. wrote stating that Mrs Samson had been appointed to represent the primary schools on the executive. A suggestion was received from the Otago Provincial Council of Sport that whenever clubs assist at the carnival, club uniforms should be worn. It was decided to make a donation of £5 through the Council of Sport to the carnival funds for the " Comforts Cor Fighters " Fund. The New Zealand Women's Hockey Association wrote stating that for the duration of the war it would not be necessary to wear long black stockings for club matches, but stockings of this type must be worn in representative games. Advice was received that Mrs G. A. Nelson, who is a life member of the association, had been appointed president of the New Zealand Women's Hockey Association for 1941-42. B. Bennett was granted a transfer from Momona Club to the Brighton Club. It was decided that entries for the seven-a-side tournament which is to be held on June 2 should close on May 26.
