MOSGIEL SCHOOL
MONTHLY MEETING OFCOMMITTEE The monthlv meeting of the Mosglel District High School Committee was presided over by Mr E. W. Cate. • The rector's report concerning the school's successes at the matriculation examinations was read, and it was decided to send a letter of congratulation to the teacher concerned Mr Golding. Mr J J. Prosser tendered his resignation as a member of the committee, on account of his leaving the town for Blenheim.— The secretary was Instructed to write and thank Mr Prosser for his valuable services and to express the committee s wish for success in his new sphere. Advice was received from the member for tlie district (Mr F. Jones) and from the Education Board that a decision had been arrived at to purchase an area of land of approximately two acres from the Mosgiel Presbyterian Church authoriThe Education Board notified that the Public Works Department had decided to cancel the arrangement for improving the new playing area. It was suggested that cattle be put on to reduce the growth.—Referred to the chairman. The Baptist Sunday School Teachers Association asked for the use of the school grounds for February 22.—Granted Accounts totalling £3l 14s 7d were passed for payment. The application of the St. John Ambulance (Girls') Association for the use of the ground was granted.
