C. Oddie, Timaru, has returned to Dunedin. ¥ ¥ ¥ Mrs A. Salvesen, of Linwood avenue, Christchurch, has returned home' after having spent a holiday with Mrs William Smith, of “ Silverdale,” Stirling. ¥ ¥ ¥ The Sewing Guild for patriotic work will re-commence its activities at the Otago Women’s Club next Wednesday at 2 p.m. It is hoped that as many members as can do so will /attend. ¥ ¥ ¥ The Navy League would be grateful for gifts of fruit cake, etc., and books and magazines for merchant ships going overseas. These gifts can be sent to, or left at, the Navy League Office. So long as cakes are carefully packed, they need not be in- sealed tins, as they are sent to ships in port in New Zealand. Much appreciation has been expressed by men for gifts already sent. The Navy League’s larder is now bare! ¥ ¥ ¥ Gore—Westlcy A quiet wedding took place recently at St. Peter’s Church, Letwell, England. The bridegroom. Flying Officer Hugh Gore, who arrived in the village by plane on the previous day, is the second son of Mr and Mrs H. C. Gore, Bedford street. St. Clair, and the bride, Miss Nora Phyllis Westley, eldest daughter of Mrs Westley, of Fulham, London, and the late Mr Westley. The rector of St. Peter’s, the Rev. H. B. Bentley, was the officiating minister. The bride, who was given away by Mr W. E. Batty, of Letwell, wore a grey suit, and hat to match, with a spray of deep red carnations and white heather. The best man was Pilot Officer Richard Wesson, of Portsmouth. A message of greetings was dropped by aeroplane, and the friends of the bride and bridegroom gave salutes by planes as the happy couple left the church ' ; . ¥ ¥ A leaflet entitled " Dynamic Health Comes to You.” .which contains many testimonials with actual names and addresses is enclosed in every packet of R.U.R.
