JUNGLE FIGHTING
THAILAND AND INDO-CHINA PERSISTENT REPORTS SERIOUS CLASHES (United Press Association ) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) LONDON, Nov. 18. (Received Nov. 19, at 11.30 p.m.) A correspondent at Bangkok reports that Thailand and Indo-China troops have engaged in serious fighting since November 16 in jungles on the Mekong river, in south-eastern Thailand, whose Government has already mobilised 100,000 men, including reserves. The objective of the Thailand troops is apparently Laos, rather than Cambodia. AN OFFICIAL DENIAL EARLIER MESSAGE BANGKOK, Nov. 18. Reports of fighting between Thailand and Indo-China are officially denied. The situation is unchanged, although "French planes daily violate the frontier."
