AXIS NEEDS OILING

POINTED AMERICAN COMMENT (By Wireless) LONDON, Nov. 19. (Received Nov. 20, at 1.15 a.m.) The United States has not been impressed by Signor Mussolini's speech. The New York Sun says that no amount of oratory can disguise the fact that the prestige of the Axis is at a low ebb. The New York Times says the statement not only means that the Axis needs oiling, but that the time' is coming when the Italian people will be asking questions that will have to be answered. The New York Daily Mirror says that Mussolini is "on the spot" with the Italian people to-day. His entry into the war begins to look like the one major mistake that a dictator is allowed.
