MACEDONIAN FRONT A GREEK SUCCESS LONDON, Nov. 5. (Received Nov. 6, at 2 a.m.) A Greek night communique states:—“On the Macedonian front our troops occupied another Albanian hilltop, from where we began shelling Korea. Five Italian planes were brought down during the day and one of ours is missing. Our aircraft bombed enemy concentrations on the Macedonian and Epirus fronts, dispersing supply columns. The Italians bombed British troops within a few hours of their arrival at Crete but there were no serious casualties. The troops, including a famous north country regiment, proceeded immediately to take up their appointed positions. Greek circles in Cairo disclose that many Greeks escaped to Turkey from the Dodecanese Islands by fishing boats to enlist against the Italians. DUTCH EAST INDIES ASIATIC BLOC UNACCEPTABLE LONDON, Nov. 5. (Received Nov. 6, at 1 a.m.) An important statement issued by the authorities in the Dutch East Indies about the trade talks with Japan states that the Netherlands Government would oppose any socalled new order implying the participation of any other Power in the affairs of the Netherlands East Indies, and would have nothing to do with any economic plan which would include them in an Asiatic bloc. It is added that no concrete results have so far been obtained from the talks, which will be continued. The Netherlands Government is giving the closest attention to the possibility of any advantage accruing to the enemy.

AXIS DECLARATION NO PEACE MOVE BERLIN, Nov. 5. (Received Nov. 6, at 2 a.m.) It is officially stated that the Axis has no reason to make a peace move in view of its present political and military position. \ The German authorities are taking over the administration of antiJewish laws in Belgium, because the Belgians have not enforced them. Dr Seyss Inquart has accorded Dutch Nazi organisations permission for demonstrations and processions for the purpose of strengthening Nazi military formations.
