SPIRIT OF BRITISH PEOPLE ROBUST CONFIDENCE • Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 5. The' robust confidence expressed by the High Commissioner in London, Mr W. J. Jordan, in a recent cablegram to the Government, was warmly applauded when the contents of the message were revealed by the Minister of Finance, Mr W. Nash, to-day. Mr Nash read the cablegram during an address to the Institute of Business Executives. “While we were worrying about .getting more petrol,” Mr Nash said, “ we Received from Mr Jordan a cable message saying ‘We are all well. Don’t worry. London is badly scarred, but not scared.’ Ido not think we yet realise what they are suffering in the United Kingdom,” Mr Nash said amid applause, “ but there is not anything this Government will not do to help the Old Country. “ With all humility,” the Minister added. “ I would say that looking at our position here beside their’s, and seeing how they are standing up under a rain of bombs and smiling through' it. we should be a happy country to use all our resources to help them to fight through and with them to win through.”
