SEVENTY-EIGHTH ANNUAL REPORT rho seventy-eighth annual report of the Moray Place Congregational Church records a year of progress. “ September 30 marked the first completed year of our church’s activity under the ministry of the Rev. J. H. Harris,” states the report. “It is felt that there lias been a real strenghening of the Christian spirit in the church, and this may be attributed in no small degree to the fine work of our minister and his wife. The diaconate has found encouragement in the increasing congregations at both morning and evening Sunday services. “ The roll of church members now stands at 196, Since the last annual report 15 names have been added, 4 being to correct previous omissions. Four members have died and one transferred to Wellington. "The Rev. J. H. Harris, Mr Peter Barr, Mr J A. McCall and Miss M. Begp were our delegates at the 1940 assembly They reported to a church meeting In April Subsequently we adopted a resolution in favour of church union between Presbyterians, Methodists and Congregationalists This resolution will be referred to the next assembly. * “ Twenty-two of our young men are now enrolled in the forces. Six members and two adherents are abroad; seven members and five adherents are in training in New Zealand; while two members will be leaving us in the near future.”
