McCREADY RETAINS TITLE I DRAWN BOUT WITH KATAN & (Per United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH. Oct. 16. The professional wrestling match between Earl McCready (17st 21b) and John Katan (16st 101 b) ended Tn a draw with each apparently too groggy in the eighth round, after several minutes of elbow jolting, to gain the decision. McCready thus retains ■ Jus British Empire title Katan - attacked throughout the first six rounds, which lacked both the clowning and the shownmanship of many matches, while McCready spent most of his time in getting out of trouble. Both the seventh and eighth rounds were mainly confined to jolting and punching, ending with both men falling out of the; ring at the end of the eighth round. There were no falls.
