Golf The Maniototo Golf Club concluded its season's activities on Saturday with a Canadian Mixed Foursome. Although the weather was not ideal, an inteiesting competition resulted in a tie between Dr Kidd and Mrs Macdonald, R. Jamieson and Miss Grant, and A. McLean and Mrs Knight, all with net scores of 36. In the play-off the competition was won by R Jamieson and Miss Grant, who will hold the White Cup for 1940. Closing the season and presenting (the trophies, Mr R Jamieson (president) remarked that the season had been very satisfactory both as regards the playing conditions and the standard of golf played. He extended the club s congratulations to the following winners of trophies;—Women's Championship; Mrs G A. Wilson: runner-up, Mrs R. D. Jamieson; L.G.U. Handicap: Miss Grant. Mrs McCarthy Trophy: Seniors. Mrs A. H Macdonald; juniors. Miss E. Grant. Men’s Championship: R A, Long; runner-up, Dr Eudey. McGrath Knock-out Cup: R. A Long. Black and White Cup: Dr Eudey. J. R.
