SUCCESSFUL YEAR’S WORK The annual meeting ot 11 ic _ Young Women’s Christian Association of Dunedin was held last night, when Mrs J. R. Fan - bairn presided over a good attendance ot members. After the business meeting, an impressive dedication and candle-lighting ceremony was conducted, following which the annual birthday social was held. Stressing the need for the women ol New Zealand to accept events from day to dav with quietness and confidence. Mrs Fair bairn, in her welcome to those present, referred to the distressing events that had occurred since the last annual meeting Despite the war. she hoped the association would have a successful year. Mrs Fairbairn said that it was apparent how badly the association was in need of new buildings when about 268* young women had had to be refused accommodation during the vear.
