Inquiries have been made whether parcels made up under the National Patriotic Fund Board's scheme for the First Echelon in Egypt have arrived there. The secretary of the board, Mr G. A. Hayden. slid to-day that as the shippins arrangements were altered after the despatch of the parcels because of the international situation they had not reached Egypt but had gone to England. Arrangements were being made for the distribution of these parcels among the Second Echelon in England and for a fresh supply to be sent to Egypt for the First Echelon. Mr Hayden added that a further sum had been cabled to Egypt for the. purchase of comforts for the New Zealand troops there.
