OBITUARY
MR THOMAS STONE iPeh United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH. June 27. The death has occurred of Mr Thomas Stone, sub-editor for 45 years of the Lyttelton Times, which m the last few years of its life became the Christchurch Times. Mr Stone commenced his journalistic career on the Telegraph, an evening paper published in Christchurch. He continued m newspaper work in Taranaki and Ashburton, where lie represented the Lyttelton Times. From this position he graduated in 1890 into the sub-editorial chair of the Times, holding the position till the paper ceased publication in 1935. REAR-ADMIRAL DOBSON LONDON, June 27, (Received June 28, at 1 a.m.) The death is announced of Rearadmiral C. G. Dobson He won the Victoria Cross when, on August 18, 1919, he led a flotilla of coastal motor boats against the Bolshevist fleet at Kronstadt, torpedoing several warships.
