BLENHEIM DE-SEEDING MACHINE , ONE HUNDRED PER CENT. 'SATISFACTORY (Per United Press Association ) BLENHEIM. June 27, “Close investigations and trials have proved that the linen flax deseeding machine patented by Mr C. J. Lucas, a Blenheim farmer, to be 100 per cent, satisfactory,” stated Mr R. B. Tennent, Director of Primary Production. "Actually it is a superior ■machine to those which have been in use in Europe,” he said. “The New Zealand Government intends to have approximately 50 machines manufactured immediately to cater for the deseeding operations where the crop is grown throughout the Dominion.” Mr Tennent paid a tribute to the Eioneering work Mr Lucas and Mr . C. Chaytor had done in connection with the linen flax industry Following an address by Mr Tennent offers were made by farmers to grow a further 100 acres of flax, bringing the total in sight to 800 acres out of a total of 1000 allocated to Marlborough for the coming season,
